This is where our journey begins.                           We invite you to follow our blog.
Here we post stories about our experiences, to hopefully let you enjoy our "journey". We would love it if you would like our blog and share it on social media.
We cannot say anything about the frequency that we maintain, because these are spontaneous actions. The best thing you can do to not miss anything is to keep an eye on our website and our Facebook page, by following and liking us.
Let the journey begin!

They're back, Naranjas!

Today I went picking oranges at an orange and mandarin orchard, near Casa Vista al Mar.
Super fun to do and oh, oh, ooooh they are delicious!
From November to mid-June you can pick oranges and mandarins here, also fun to do with the kids.
Then enjoy fresh orange juice "zumo de naranja"
and of course they are also delicious to eat just like that, just peel them of course.
Are you also coming to spend your stay at Casa Vista al Mar?
See you soon!

El castell de Guadalest

A nice mountain village, in the province of Alicante, region of Valencia.
From Casa Vista al Mar you can drive in a little over an hour to this cute and also cozy village with beautiful views, nice shops and cultural sights.
This time we visited the country house of the Orduña, the castle with the gardens and the parish church. There are also two museums that you can visit. What appeals to us is the attention that the municipality and its residents pay to the decoration of the village.
In the summer the village is decorated with flags and it is a cheerfully colored sight. This time we were there during the Christmas period and the flags had made way for cozy lights. There was also a beautiful nativity scene.
The village is located on a mountain and visiting it means walking a lot of stairs, there are also cozy restaurants and terraces where you can enjoy a drink and or a snack.
Guadalest is on the list of the most beautiful villages in Spain;
"Los Pueblos mas bonitos de España". In 1974 the medieval village was declared;
"Historic Artistic Heritage" This beautiful village attracts many visitors every year. If you are not a fan of the crowds, start your day early. The first buses with tourists arrive around 10:30.
The villages in the immediate vicinity are also worth a visit. On the way back we had a drink in Beniardà at restaurante Ca Gloria with super friendly service.
Beniardà is a nice village on the reservoir and also very worthwhile for a visit.

Our quest

We have been looking for a house in Spain for at least five years.
Before we knew where we wanted to buy a house, we rented in various beautiful places in the Costa Blanca region.
We have visited the Costa Blanca in all seasons.
It soon became clear to us that we preferred the Costa Blanca north. The diversity of the coastline, with its rugged cliffs, the beautiful green of nature combined with the beautiful blue sea, that attracted us the most.
We also visited the Costa Blanca south, which was also wonderful and yet we returned to the Costa Blanca north. It felt like coming home every time.
In September 2022 we found our first house in Benitachell, a beautiful house in a wonderful location. Unfortunately, after checking by our lawyer, it turned out that the house was illegal and the purchase did not go through.
We continued our search and in February 2023 we found our new home!
We are super happy!
Hopefully you will continue to follow us at Casa Vista al Mar.
